Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says only victories will suffice as his side gears up for a season-defining last two months of the campaign.

A home win against Cardiff on Wednesday night would see the Blues return to the Premier League summit, before attentions then turn to an FA Cup semi-final against Brighton and a Champions League last eight first leg tie with Tottenham over the following seven days.

“We don’t select competitions or say this game is more important than another.”

Guardiola also revealed that he believes his current crop of players have the potential to be considered even better than last season’s record-breaking centurions.

The Blues boss said: “We judge a team on how many titles they will win, but I’m satisfied to think we are better than last season because we’ve had more time together.

“We do better things than last season, but we will be judged on the titles we win.”
