Pep Guardiola has urged his players to replicate the reaction from City’s Premier League defeat to Newcastle, against Tottenham.
The Champions responded to the setback at St James’ Park by embarking on a 14-game winning streak, which included the Carabao Cup Final triumph over Chelsea.
City disappointingly exited the Champions League in midweek, despite edging a seven-goal thriller against Spurs, and the manager has called upon his players to produce another instant reaction.

“It’s incredible what we’ve done so far - the way we compete,” Guardiola said. “The fact we are fighting for [a domestic treble].
“That is good but first it’s Tottenham and then we will prepare for Old Trafford.
“I’m sad for the way we played at Newcastle but the reaction... I liked it, I loved it.
“I’m satisfied and I am proud. I want to see the same from my players on Saturday.”
