Benjamin Mendy was full of praise for Raheem Sterling following Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, joking that “he’s top of the league”.
City claimed all three Premier League points at Selhurst Park thanks to a goal in each half from Raheem Sterling as well as one from substitute Gabriel Jesus in the final minute of the game.

Pep Guardiola’s side were in cruise control for the majority of the game thanks to a Sterling brace before a Luka Milivojevic free-kick got one back for Palace.
However, G.Jesus was on hand to score the third and final goal of the game for City and ensure that we would return to Manchester with all three points.
Following the victory at Selhurst Park, defender Benjamin Mendy admitted that it was a difficult game for his side but credited the performance of Sterling.
“It is not easy to win here. It is very difficult with the stands are the fans and Crystal Palace have a good team. We knew this before the game. But now it’s finished and we win and we are very very happy.
“He’s (Sterling) top of the league.” Mendy joked. “He is a very good guy, cool, I enjoy a lot, I love him. He work a lot for this and his good performance on the pitch.”
The Frenchman added that the win over Palace has given his side an extra confidence boost as we look to overturn a 1-0 deficit on Wednesday in the Champions League quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.
“We are confident all the time. We know that we can beat every team. We need the Etihad Stadium to be on fire and we will do everything to win this game.”
