Joao Cancelo told the media he wants to settle in Manchester, in the fullback’s first press conference as a City player.
The Portuguese international joined the Club from Juventus on Wednesday, penning a deal which keeps him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2025.
“In the last four years I have been at four different clubs.” Explained Cancelo. “I’ve always been improving, and my aim is to become the best, and I think I can do this here.
“I dream of being the best player in the world in my position, and Manchester City is the place to do that.
“Man City has great quality players so I will try and bring my own quality and improve on my weaknesses. I’ve already seen in training the quality the team has.”

Whilst in Turin, Cancelo established himself as one of Serie A’s best full-backs.
Comfortable on either flank and also capable of playing in a more advanced position, Cancelo provides great delivery from wide areas and boasts exceptional athleticism, using his pace to good effect in both offensive and defensive situations.
“I’m here to help wherever I’m placed by the manager. I’m a right back but I’m versatile and can play in many positions, so I’ll play wherever Pep asks me to play.
“Pep was a big reason in me joining Man City. I’ve always admired the way he has played both here and at Barcelona.
“It’s no coincidence that City have won the league two years in a row.”
