Ilkay Gundogan believes City will need to be at our best to overcome the challenge of a talented Dinamo Zagreb side in Croatia on Wednesday night.

While City are already assured of top spot in Group C of the Champions League, the Croatians are fighting to try and claim second place – and with it a spot in the last 16.

And given how tough they made life for City in October’s group clash at the Etihad, Gundogan is expecting another tough test tomorrow night.

“When I saw them play Atalanta it wasn’t just the result that impressed… they could have scored much more goals,” the German midfielder said at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.

“Playing them in the second group game showed how tough a test it is to play them. We couldn’t score in the first half.

“We scored in the middle of the second and then very late for the second goal. Over 90 minutes it was a very tough game.

“I’m expecting a tougher and more difficult game tomorrow here.”
