Pep Guardiola has hailed Brendan Rodgers’ impact at Leicester City.

The Foxes, currently second in the Premier League after a fine first half of the season, have been transformed under the stewardship of the former Liverpool boss.

And they visit the Etihad on Saturday teatime for a crucial encounter.

Ahead of the game, Guardiola was full of praise for the work of his counterpart.

“They did really well last season when he [Brendan Rodgers] took over and this season as well,” Guardiola said.

“They have been so consistent in this part of the season.”

Meanwhile, Guardiola said assistant boss Mikel Arteta was close to agreeing a deal to join Arsenal as Head Coach.

“He is in London,” he said. “He is close to doing a deal with Arsenal. That’s what I know.”
