Oleksandr Zinchenko admits it was a tough day at the office for him and his teammates in the 2-0 win over Sheffield United

The Blades were unbeaten on the road since 19th January before their trip to the Etihad, but that impressive record was brought to an end thanks to second half strikes from Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne.

And Zinchenko reiterated that the win over Chris Wilder’s side was no mean feat: “It was a tough game definitely because they are quite strong physically and it is not easy to play against these kinds of teams.

“They organised well defensively, 11 players behind the ball and then at the right time and the right tempo they go on the counter attack, it was tough.”

City’s task could have been made much more difficult had Lys Mousset’s effort on the half hour mark not been ruled out for offside after a VAR check.

But even though the forward had only started his run a fraction of a second too soon, Zinchenko was always confident the right decision would be made.

“You know that moment was so quick… I’ve seen (Mousset) was further than me definitely,” the Ukrainian said when explaining the passage of play to City TV.

“After the game I watched this moment a couple of times and to be honest it was quite sharp. But from my side, I was 100% sure he was offside.”
