Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City will be a better team next season.
The boss was pleased with his side’s performance against Leicester City, but acknowledged it is difficult to consistently reach that level when you play three games a week.
And he feels that not being at our best has made decisions like Aymeric Laporte’s disallowed goal against Tottenham Hotspur more costly.
“Sometimes I go to sleep and think about it,” he said when asked if that game was catalyst for a downturn in form.
“I remember the Tottenham players said ‘why was it disallowed?’ and afterwards Lloris was laughing. After we were behind Liverpool again.
“It’s impossible to play like we did today every three days.
“When you are not in high level little things make a difference. When the opponent is better, believe me, I say congratulations.
“But in specific moments we have not been on top. Next season we will be better, I am pretty sure of that.”
