Pep Guardiola asserts he intends to show Burnley the utmost respect, when City lock horns with the Clarets in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
Sean Dyche’s side travel to the Etihad Stadium in a repeat of last season’s Third Round clash, in which the hosts triumphed 4-1.
While City head into this year’s encounter in excellent form, Burnley themselves have enjoyed a recent upturn in fortunes and Guardiola, who insists he will field a strong side for the all-Premier League tie, dismissed the suggestion that the visitors are not interested in FA Cup progression.

Quizzed by journalists at his pre-match press conference, the Blues boss replied: “When you say that the FA Cup is not top of Burnley’s agenda, does that mean 11 players are going to play at the Etihad Stadium and not want to win? I can’t believe it.
“They are going to try to play the way they did last season. They finished seventh in the league, which is an incredible achievement.
“They did not start well but I think they have gone five games unbeaten. I have a lot of respect for what they have done and what they try to do.”
