Pep Guardiola says the opinion he has of his squad hasn’t changed, despite a run of three defeats in five matches.
City have slipped seven points off the pace at the top of the Premier League, bringing added edge to Thursday’s game at home to leaders Liverpool,
But City’s recent dip in form hasn’t dented Guardiola’s belief in his players, who he says have shown time and again they have plenty of character and fight.
“No [my opinion hasn’t altered], last season they were consistently humble and committed every three days,” he told reporters.
“Liverpool will punish for mistakes. They are so, so good. I learn about my team in good moments and how we react in tough competitions, like against Hoffenheim after we went down after one minute.
“I said after the Leicester defeat, it won’t change how i feel about my squad.
“We fought a lot and have problems and how we react, even after 3-0 down in Champions League.
“They showed me that even in first season, we never give up.”
