Midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne continued his return from injury, producing a Man of the Match display in City’s 5-0 FA Cup thrashing of Burnley.

The playmaker netted a stunning long-range strike – his tenth goal from outside the box in all competitions since the beginning of last season – in addition to providing two assists, as the Blues cruised through to the Fifth Round.

Speaking to the press after the game, Pep Guardiola admitted De Bruyne still needs minutes to regain his best form but is pleased with the Belgian’s recovery.

“It’s not easy when players have long injuries,” he said. “That’s why we tried to handle his minutes.

“Of course, we need him because he’s so clever and aggressive in his game. He helps a lot.”
