Kevin De Bruyne says he is ready to return to his best after an injury-disrupted 2018-19 season.

The Belgian midfielder missed large chunks of last campaign due to injury - but returned to the side for the FA Cup final, a game that him named man of the match after a virtuoso second-half display in City’s 6-0 win over Watford.

After a long rest with his family over the summer, he played 45 minutes of City’s preseason opener against West Ham in Nanjing on Wednesday as he looks to get ready for a big 2019-20 season.

“Let’s hope [I am injury free],” he said.

“I just came here, I feel good. I’m happy with the 45 minutes [against West Ham in the Premier League Asia Trophy]. I’m calm. I have time to prepare myself and I am fully confident this year will be fine.”
