Ellen White believes it will be an incredible occasion when England lock horns with Scotland in their first game of the 2019 World Cup.
The two nations, whose footballing rivalry stretches back more than a century, face off in Nice on Sunday 9 June and City’s new acquisition says games don’t come any bigger.
“We’re going to give everything we can,” said White.
“We’ve got a tough group. Our first game is against Scotland and obviously a couple of Scot’s have played for City, so it’s going to be an incredible game.
“That rivalry with the two countries is incredible and that’s going to be a big game.”
The Lionesses forward will officially complete her move from Birmingham City on 1 July and heads to France with two World Cup campaigns under her belt already.
An avid observer of the game, the 30-year-old also revealed she’ll take time to enjoy what the rest of the tournament has to offer and spoke of the team’s desire to improve on their third place finish in 2015.
