Esme Morgan may just be starting out her senior career, but she’s set her sights on the ultimate prize.

The 18-year-old, who put pen to paper on her first professional contract earlier this week, aims to one day lift the Women’s World Cup, inspired by her City teammates currently representing their countries at the 2019 summer tournament in France.

Speaking to CityTV, Morgan shared her dream and discussed the Lionesses’ progress so far, adding she hopes to see Phil Neville’s side make history with a first triumph.

The defender has experience of a World Cup herself, selected in England’s Under-20s squad for the 2018 competition - also in France - and spoke of the importance this edition holds for women’s football across the globe.
