Kyle Walker hailed his friendship with fellow Yorkshireman John Stones as he penned a new deal which keeps him at Manchester City until the summer of 2024.
It’s a two-year contract extension for the 29-year-old, who is embracing his role as one of the more experienced players in Pep Guardiola’s exciting young squad.
He’ll tell you he’s still young at heart, however, and credits Stones, a friend as well as a team-mate, for that.
“I’m not getting any younger in myself, but I still try and keep myself young, especially with John around me.
“He keeps me young. We always have a laugh and a joke and I’m glad I get to share a lot more years with this team.”
In a wide-ranging interview, the England international revealed he arrived at City with the intention of being here long term, how Guardiola has improved his game and why he still thinks he can get even better.
