Pep Guardiola believes Sergio Aguero’s off-field happiness is a significant reason for his incredible scoring run.

The 30-year-old forward racked up a staggering seven Premier League strikes in February from just four games, including two hat-tricks against Arsenal and Chelsea.

And the boss seemed to suggest that the Argentine’s positive mindset has been essential to this sparkling form in front of goal.

He said: “It’s really good. I know it is not easy to play a lot of games especially after Chelsea was so demanding.

“I think his mood is good, he’s happy and when you feel good with your life and your profession you can go forward.”

The boss then emphasised the importance of this weekend’s clash against Bournemouth ahead of a week-long break.

“People who played a lot of minutes can rest and then after make the next three (games),” he explained.

“Then after (the international break) we come back in April for the last run- for the amount of games in our legs and our minds in the last month (tomorrow is) so important.”
