Manchester City defender Danilo described now as ‘the most beautiful time of the season’ following our dominant 7-0 Champions League victory over Schalke at the Etihad Stadium.
City move through to the quater-final stages of the competition after an emphatic 10-2 aggregate win over the German side.
Pep Guardiola‘s team took a 3-2 lead into the game from the first leg away at Schalke and by half time were 6-2 up on aggregate, thanks to a Sergio Aguero brace and a goal from former Schalke star Leroy Sane.
A simply stunning second-half display saw Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus all add their names to the score sheet.

With several of City’s central defenders out injured, Danilo started the game at centre-back.
Following the rampant performance, Danilo admitted that he was not fazed by having to play out of his usual right-back position.
“It was good to be honest. Me and the team we play quickly, with security. That’s the way we have to keep going.
“For me it’s not difficult to play there because my team-mates help me a lot. I’m here to help the team.”
The Brazilian was then asked if there were any particular teams he wanted to avoid in the quarter-final draw which will be made on Friday 15 March, 11am GMT.
“We cannot choose a team, All the teams are so difficult so we have to keep our focus and keep working.
“Now is the most beautiful time of the season.”
