Pep Guardiola expressed his delight with Aymeric Laporte‘s performances for Manchester City this season, describing them as ‘incredible’.

Laporte was overlooked for the France squad by national boss Didier Deschamps’, with Les Blues set to face Moldova and Iceland in their European qualifying fixtures.

The defender has been an almost ever-present for City this season but is yet to receive a call-up to France’s senior squad.

Pep stated during his press conference that he is not a part of the decision of whether Laporte receives an international call up, but described the Frenchman’s performances for City this season as ‘incredible’.

“I cannot comment because I respect the decision from France’s manager. He has his own decision and I am not involved in that.

“What Laporte has done this season is incredible. We are delighted with his performances this season.

“I am pretty sure Laporte would like to go to national team but now he will take a rest.”
