Pep Guardiola says his Manchester City team is growing ‘step by step’ and still have some way to go before matching the likes of Barcelona.

The City manager conducted his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of our Premier League fixture against Watford on Saturday.

The Blues have already secured this season’s Carabao Cup and are still vying to lift the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup alongside it.

Asked whether he believes his side are beginning to receive the same sort of respect worldwide as Barcelona enjoy, Pep answered that he still thinks there is work to be done.

“I think the team grows one of the most step by step. In the last three years we grow a lot. I think to compare to Barcelona we are far away but we are getting better,” the boss said.

“I feel humble and we are taking small steps. Manchester City make back to back titles and we make 100 points and fight for all the titles.”
