City had Raheem Sterling to thank for the win after his 13-minute hat-trick – but Guardiola made sure Gundogan, who was disciplined and pulled the strings in midfield, received praise.
“I think Gundogan made an incredible game. He’s an incredible player in all senses.
“Raheem can do better. He scored three but he can do better. First half he can do better.”
