Right-back Kyle Walker was delighted with the part that he played in helping Manchester City to victory over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium.
The Englishman set up Sergio Aguero’s equaliser and then went on to net a late winner in a brilliant all-round performance.
The visitors took an unlikely lead early in the first-half and defended rigidly throughout, but Walker’s persistence on the right-flank proved to be decisive.
“I think that’s the least we deserve for how many chances that we created throughout the game and the persistence we showed,” he said. “I felt like Vinnie out there for a little bit! I thought what am I doing here.
“As I say it’s the least we deserve and we put in a good performance. We move on now. We need to keep going and keep believing in ourselves.”
