Pep Guardiola has admitted he enjoys watching Premier League rivals Liverpool and this weekend’s opponents Chelsea in action.

The City boss said there is plenty he admires about each team’s style of play and believes their easy on the eye approach is to the benefit of the game in this country.

“It’s good for English football to have a team like Liverpool or ourselves, or Chelsea right now, because the football is so attractive,” he explained.

“I see Liverpool and Chelsea at the weekend, and I enjoy watching them. I watch my opponents and I like to enjoy them.

“I’ve enjoyed watching Liverpool in the past when preparing for the games.”

The manager also acknowledged there is more pressure on his team than Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title and called on his players to show their fighting spirit in response to the disappointing defeat to the Reds before the international break.
