Jill Scott says City are confident of getting the result needed in the second leg of our Champions League last-16 against Atletico Madrid.

The first leg at the Academy Stadium finished 1-1, with Veronica Charlyn Corral’s late leveller making City’s task of reaching the quarter-finals a difficult one.

But midfielder Scott, who was named player-of-the-match, says our gameplan has not changed ahead of the away leg in two weeks’ time.

“There were positives,” she said. “In the first half we had chances but against teams like this, we have to finish them because they always have players that have individual brilliance.

“I think we switched off for a moment and good teams are going to punish you.

“It’s half-time, we have to switch our focus now – we play Manchester United at the weekend.

“It’s half-time, all to play for. We’ve got to go out there and get the win which is what we would be looking to do anyway.”
