John Stones says he is desperate to see Raheem Sterling win some of the top individual prizes in the game.

Sterling scored an 11-minute hat-trick in the 5-1 win over Atalanta, taking his total for the season to 12 in all competitions.

It’s the latest example of his brilliance - and Stones says he is a paid up member of Sterling‘s fan club.

“I want him to win the top awards,” Stones said. “I’m a big Sterling fan.

“It’s great to play with him and seeing him getting the achievements he deserves, I want to see him pushing to win things, his performances, his goals and how he helps the team.

“Things go unrecognised – his willingness to do the dirty things. One thing that springs to mind at Palace when he ran back and made a tackle.”
