Saints were beaten 9-0 by Leicester City on Friday night, equaling the record for the largest defeat in Premier League history.

But Guardiola, speaking after Saturday’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa, says he expects them to shake off the loss ahead of our Carabao Cup Round Four clash.

He said: “It’s not easy of course but at the same time I think they are incredible professionals.

“The players are professionals and will do their best. I am not going to judge Southampton or prepare for the game on that result against Leicester.”
