Nick Cushing and Megan Campbell hailed City’s ‘fight to the end’ attitude in the Women’s Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.
Cushing‘s side were edged out in the Round of 16, falling to a 2-1 defeat in the second leg, after the two sides had played out a 1-1 draw in Manchester a fortnight before.

At 2-0 down and seemingly down and out, City found a route back into the game, as Pauline Bremer struck with two minutes of normal time remaining, but despite a late rally, it proved too little, too late.
Both Cushing and Campbell expressed their pride for the visitors’ battling display, adding City are already raring to go when Birmingham visit the Academy Stadium on Sunday in the Continental Cup.
