Fernandinho has expressed his delight following Manchester City’s comfortable 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The Brazilian lined up as a centre-back once again due to City’s injury problems and was partnered at the back by summer-signing Rodrigo, who normally operates in defensive midfield.
The pair defended well together and kept a clean sheet as City emerged with the three points thanks to first half strikes from Gabriel Jesus and David Silva.

The 34-year-old was delighted with the way City conducted themselves during the victory.
“It’s a difficult place to come and win and to play good football,” he said.
“They have a very good squad. But we went for it and tried to score from the first minute.
“We scored two good goals at the end of the first-half and created a lot of chances for more goals in the second half. We won the game and we are so happy for that.”
