‘Title won in May, not October’ says Pep

Pep Guardiola says there is a long way to go in the Premier League title race.

When asked if he thought it would be another two-horse race this season, the City boss said it was way too soon to tell.

“It’s too early,” said Pep.

“The gap between the other clubs is not too big. Liverpool have started a bit faster than the other ones, but it is too early to say if it will be between one, two or three teams involved this season.”

The Blues’ boss was also asked whether he would be worried if Liverpool came out of a tough run of fixtures without dropping any points.

He said: “It’s not about being concerned. They have tough fixtures, but so do we.

“I’m not concerned. If they are winning in this run, I will congratulate them on their level.

“We are in October; it finishes in May. There are a lot of different situations to handle. It is not a concern.”
