Ahead of our 125th celebration game against Watford, the Catalan sang Mahrez‘s praises after an impressive start to the 2019/20 season.
The Algerian winger made a solid contribution to City’s domestic dominance last season, without ever having a long run in the first team.
This term he has started on the front foot and claimed a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win over Shakhtar in midweek.

The City boss now feels the Blues are reaping the benefit of a settled and confident Mahrez.
“t I said many times last season that Mahrez played well,” said Pep.
“He needed time to adapt, but we knew the quality.
“He loves to play football and loves training and loves being in contact with the ball. I like this type of player.
“He’s a guy who doesn’t feel too much pressure, he has confidence in himself.
“If he makes a bad action, he still wants the ball. That’s difficult to find.
“I think he’s quality. He just has to be more relaxed when he doesn’t play.”
