Vincent Kompany says the size of Manchester City has only really hit him having moved away from the Club.
The defender spent 11 years at the Club, a period that saw us win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups, before taking the manager’s job at Anderlecht in the summer.
But Kompany says it’s only now he’s back at City for this evening’s testimonial match that the magnitude of the Club has really hit him.
“When I was at this club, even the last year, it was same old city to me,” he said.
“Same talking, same culture and values. Different demands but the same club.
“If you go around the stadium you see the same people.
“Now I’m in a different country, you realise the magnitude of the club. I didn’t realise. When you come back it’s ‘wow, it’s a big club now’. We’ve all had some kind of role to play.”
