City’s hopes of retaining the Premier League title have receded in recent weeks, with Liverpool extending their advantage at the top to 19 points.
But the City boss is understandably proud of his players’ efforts so far, with his team in second place in the Premier League and still competing for three trophies.
Asked at his press conference whether this season could be judged a success, he said: “This kind of answer is for you, the judge, will be there.

“So always we can see the perfect season is when you win a lot of titles. It’s a nice season when you win the biggest titles
“I’m proud of my team; we are still competing every single game, we won the Community Shield we are in Carabao Cup final.
“Yes, we are far away from Liverpool, but they would be champions everywhere from Timbuktu to Australia.
“We are in a good position to qualify for the Champions League, we are in the Champions League against the kings of championship in Madrid with 13 titles in their trophy cabinets and we are still in the FA Cup.
“We are there, so we will see at the end of the season. I will tell you... let us finish and we will see what happens - that is my feeling.”
