Fernandinho hopes Manchester City fans are as pleased as he is with the news he will be at the Club for a further year.

The Brazilian has agreed a one-year extension of his current deal, which keeps him in Manchester until the summer of 2021 and, having enjoyed so much success over the last seven years, the 34-year-old admits it was a simple decision.

“It was easy,” he said,

“There is a time in your life when you don’t think just about yourself, but especially about your family and your kids. They were one of the reasons I decided to sign another contract.

“I am happy, my family is happy, so I hope the City fans are happy as well.”

The tireless midfielder also discusses his City highlights, his Premier League legacy and the team-mate he believes is the greatest he has played alongside.
