Brighton 0-2 City: Brief highlights

Manchester City opened their 2017/18 Premier League campaign in perfect fashion as they secured a hard-fought 2-0 win away at Brighton.

A second half strike from striker Sergio Aguero was quickly followed up by a 75th minute own goal from Brighton’s Lewis Dunk to give Pep Guardiola’s side a deserved three points.

There were solid debuts for new summer signings Kyle Walker, Danilo and goalkeeper Ederson on what was a highly satisfactory afternoon for City.

And fellow new arrival Bernardo Silva also got his first proper taste of English football, coming on as a second half substitute to round off what was a perfect start to the new season.

City now have a nine day window during which time they will travel to play Spanish side Girona in a friendly before their next league clash at home to Everton and they will look to build on what was another excellent start to the domestic campaign.
