Manchester City U18s maintained top spot in the U18 Premier League with a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Gareth Taylor’s youngsters were forced to come from behind to rescue a point after Liam Millar had put the Reds ahead in the 12th minute.

Edvard Tagseth dropped the ball in behind the City back line and after cutting inside Colin Rosler, the Canadian fired home a low strike.

Liverpool had started the stronger, but the Blues came out fighting in the second period and Nabil Touaizi twice went close before Keke Simmonds levelled.

Ian Carlo Poveda was the catalyst with his driving run, and when he found the striker in the box, he made no mistake from 10 yards.

City failed to find the second goal which would have sealed all three points, but the draw was good enough to hold on to first place in the league.
