Manchester City took the derby bragging rights courtesy of an action-packed 2-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi secured a 14th consecutive Premier League win for the club – equaling a record that had been set by Arsenal.

The victory also extended City’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 11 points with 16 games of the season having gone.

Silva gave City a 42nd minute lead before Marcus Rashford levelled in first-half injury time.

But a strike from Argentine defensive colossus Otamendi early in the second half secured the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side and left City’s travelling army of supporters in raptures.
