Rabbi Matondo struck three times as Manchester City U18s downed Sunderland 6-2 at the City Football Academy.

The wide man helped himself to a quick fire 12 minute hat-trick as Gareth Taylor’s young Blues came from behind to maintain their unbeaten U18 Premier League record.

Also on target for City were Nabil Touaizi, who grabbed a brace and Lukas Nmecha, whose cross evaded everyone and went in off the post.

The Black Cats had Lee Connelly to thank for their two goals, having taken the lead after 21 minutes and levelling the scores at 2-2 just after the break, before City took control.

It’s a result that leaves the U18s with a perfect record, having won all of their opening five games.
