Manchester City progressed to the Carabao Cup final after a 3-2 win away at Bristol City.

City booked a place in the Carabao Cup final after a thrilling 3-2 win over Bristol City.

Goals either side of half-time from Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero put the Blues firmly in command and though the Robins fought back to level in the closing stages, Kevin De Bruyne won the game with the last kick of the game to secure a 5-3 aggregate victory.

“We are so happy to be in the final,” said Pep afterwards.

“For everybody involved, to reach this final, we played an amazing game.

“We were two goals ahead and after that we lost the control and, you know, in these kinds of games it never ends until the end – and this will be a good lesson for the next Sunday in Cardiff and especially in the Champions League.

“Always we have to play the full 90 minutes. In the first half, we missed the last pass and we can be more precise, more accurate, but I’m so happy for all of us.

“We saw what happened after we went two up. Of course, we knew that if we scored two goals, it would be easier. After that, with one or two minutes left, at 2-2, anything can happen.

“This final isn’t about me. It’s for Manchester City. We are a Club that tries to reach new levels. With Mancini, with Pellegrini they achieved that, and we try to keep going with that same level.
