Manchester City regained top spot in the Premier League after securing a hard-fought goalless draw at Liverpool.
The Blues became the first team in the Premier League to prevent Liverpool scoring this season and the result was enough to restore the Blues back at the summit above Chelsea, who had gone top earlier on Sunday, on goal difference.
And City could have secured victory after being awarded an 86th minute penalty when substitute Leroy Sane was brought down in the box. However, Riyad Mahrez was off target from the spot-kick.
The Premier League now takes a two-week break for the international window with City next in action at home to Burnley on October 20th..
