Manchester City recorded a 4-1 victory against West Ham United in the opening game of our 2019 pre-season tour of Asia.

In what proved to be an entertaining contest, Pep Guardiola’s side responded to Mark Noble’s penalty with strikes from David Silva, Lukas Nmecha and two from Raheem Sterling.

There was a mixture of youth and experience in Guardiola’s starting XI, with Tommy Doyle, grandson of Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe, making his debut in China.

City fell behind just before the half hour mark, with Noble converting from the spot after Angelino handled the ball whilst on the ground, but the lead lasted just five minutes.

Silva fired home a volley, before Nmecha scored a penalty of his own as the Premier League champions scored two goals in as many minutes.

City improved in the second-half and Sterling was as cool as you like to grab a brace with a pair of close range efforts, the first coming after a wonderful defence-splitting pass from Leroy Sane.

The win means City will face Wolves in the final of the Premier League Asia Trophy final on Saturday.
