Pep Guardiola’s side have set off to Japan and South Korea to ramp up our preparations for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign.
Flying out to Asia on Wednesday 19 July, we will spend a hard-working week in Tokyo, before a three-day trip to South Korea’s Seoul – playing three matches across the 10-day period.
The first of these being a hotly anticipated meeting with our CFG sister club and seven-time J1 League champions, before clashes with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
With the defence of our Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup crowns on the agenda next term, the trio of fixtures will provide the perfect tests ahead of the Community Shield final with Arsenal on Sunday 6 August.
We last faced the Yokohama F. Marinos during our 2019 pre-season tour of China, Hong Kong and Japan – with the meeting our third and final game following a win over West Ham and a draw with Wolves.
And a bumper crowd of 65,052 weren’t disappointed as we locked horns with, new Tottenham boss, Ange Postecoglu’s then side.
Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Lukas Nmetcha were all on the scoresheet as we recorded a fine 3-1 victory.
