The visitors were stung by a quickfire double in the opening 15 minutes and though we were in the game throughout and carved several chances, we were unable to stage a comeback.

Fabinho grabbed the opener immediately after VAR ruled out a penalty for handball against Trent Alexander-Arnold and within minutes Mohamed Salah’s header made it 2-0.
Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling both went close, while Angelino hit the post before Sadio Mane nodded in a third.
Bernardo Silva swept home with 12 minutes remaining to give City hope and Michael Oliver later waved away more penalty appeals when the ball hit Alexander-Arnold’s arm, with the hosts holding on the claim the victory.
