Kyle Walker scored three minutes from time as Manchester City came back from a goal down to beat Southampton 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

City claimed a dramatic late victory over Southampton after Kyle Walker struck three minutes from time at the Etihad Stadium.

The full-back had already crossed for Sergio Aguero’s equaliser, when he arrived at the back post to fire home Angelino’s deep cross in the 87th minute and reward the defending champions’ unwavering pressure.

It was no more than City deserved, but relief still came pouring out after the visitors’ defence proved impenetrable for 70 minutes.

James Ward-Prowse had given Southampton something to cling to, firing home a rebound after Ederson had spilled Stuart Armstrong’s shot and from their they sat deep, often camped on the edge of their own penalty area.

City sent cross after cross into the box and eventually the South Coast side’s defence gave way as we sealed our 200th Premier League win at the Etihad.
