Both were born into huge Manchester City families. both came through the youth ranks at the Club and now both have scored in a League Cup final at Wembley.
But it doesn’t end there.
Barnes was 19 when he scored City’s opener against Newcastle United in 1976, while O’Reilly celebrated his 21st birthday the day before the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal.
His brace last Sunday secured a 2-0 win over the Gunners and many have noticed how the celebrations of both Barnes and O’Reilly were uncannily similar.
And even their post-match quotes could easily be attributed to both as they relived moments they will never forget.
