To celebrate 30 years of the Premier League, we continue our video series remembering 30 key City moments during that historic timeline.

We’ve already recalled Pep Guardiola’s 100th league win at the Club, Sergio Aguero’s five-goal haul against Newcastle United and our last game at Maine Road, amongst others.

Now, we look back at one of our most historic wins– our 6-1 derby victory at Manchester United in 2012.

Roberto Mancini’s side started well at Old Trafford with Mario Balotelli’s strike giving us the lead before Jonny Evans was sent off after half-time for pulling down the Italian.

Balotelli then grabbed his and our second soon after, but Darren Fletcher halved the deficit in a match which was proving to be a classic.

However, Edin Dzeko settled any nerves with a double either side of a David Silva strike as the victory turned from comfortable to sensational.

The success would ultimately prove vital in the title race as we pipped Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to our maiden Premier League trophy on the final day of the season.

But more on that later in the series…
