Rayan Ait-Nouri says City had to showcase our character to secure three points from Saturday's tight victory over Leeds United.

The 24-year-old played a crucial role in the build up to Antoine Semenyo’s first-half added time goal .

The Algerian international performed his defensive duties well and made a handful of impressive forward runs with the ball as we secured a clean sheet.

Speaking after the game, Ait-Nouri says City had to prove our character to persevere through the game to maintain our lead and walk away with all three points. 

“We tried to follow the advice of the gaffer,” he said.

“To play in this team we play with a lot of confidence.

“We need to keep pushing like this until the end, but we’ll take it game by game.”

“We play with great players and to play in this way is very good for us, but we need to keep pushing and we focus on the next game which is Wednesday.”
