Julian Alvarez was satisfied with his contribution in the 4-0 FA Cup third round victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

The World Cup winner got his name on the scoresheet, netting from the penalty spot to double our lead after Riyad Mahrez gave us the lead earlier with a stunning free-kick.

Phil Foden and a Mahrez spot-kick secured safe passage into round four for Pep Guardiola‘s side.

Alvarez, making his first start since returning from the World Cup, was content with his contribution.

“We played very well,” he said.

“A four goal difference, we’re happy with the result. Now we focus on the next games coming in the future.

“I’m happy that Riyad [Mahrez] let me take that penalty kick. I’m happy that I contributed and that we won.

“Now we focus on the future.”

The striker also spoke about his feelings after winning the World Cup, reserved some praise for Mahrez and looked ahead to the fourth round of the competition.
