Pep Guardiola’s side resume European action with a trip to the Portuguese capital to lock horns with a dangerous Sporting side as the Champions League knockout stages get underway.
City will step out at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in a rich vein of form having opened up a nine-point lead in the Premier League.
But we face a tough challenge against Ruben Amorim’s side who impressed in the group stages – and Matchday Live special guest Morrison says the key for City is to solely focus on the job in hand and not look any further ahead.
“I’m expecting a tough game. This a team that finished above Borussia Dortmund in the group stages so it’s going to be a challenge,” said the former City skipper.
“Our preparation has to be meticulous and I’m sure we will leave no stone unturned.

“Everything will be in place and it’s one game at a time. All you do is look to win the next game and never look too far ahead.
“Come back to the Etihad on a level playing field and we’ll have too much for them.”
“It will be a tough game but Pep looks at things from a different set of glasses and figures out ways to get the result,” fellow Matchday Live regular guest Shaun Goater added.
“I’ll flip it on its head and say that if you’re Sporting and playing Man City you know you are in for a tough game.
“Sporting will not want to play Man City as they know City will be a tough team.”
