A swathe of great goals were scored across the 30 days as all our teams entered the business end of the season.
It was a difficult task narrowing them down to just eight, but here are our picks for April’s prize…
Julian Álvarez v Liverpool
After falling behind to Jurgen Klopp’s team, City immediately went on the offensive and equalised through the 23-year-old.
A neat move saw Riyad Mahrez switch play to Jack Grealish before the Englishman teed up Alvarez with a pinpoint cross, allowing the Argentinian to expertly poke home.
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw v Arsenal
Gareth Taylor’s side made an electric start at Meadow Park when taking the lead through the Jamaican.
Filippa Angeldahl slid a perfectly weighted ball to Chloe Kelly on the right-hand-side whose whipped cross was powerfully headed into the top corner by Bunny.
Erling Haaland v Southampton
Pep Guardiola’s team were at our clinical best on the south coast, with Haaland’s sublime strike (and our third in a 4-1 win) perhaps the pick of the bunch.
Grealish floated a ball towards the back post where the Norwegian produced a phenomenal overhead kick to strike the ball low into the net.
Nico O’Reilly v Middlesbrough
On the subject of sublime goals, there’s no surprise Under-18s midfielder Nico O’Reilly’s last-gasp winner against Middlesbrough makes the shortlist.
With the game looking increasingly likely to end 1-1 on Teeside, the 18-year-old came up with a magnificent scorpion kick from a venomous cross to hand us the lead deep into stoppage time.
John Stones v Leicester City
John Stones’ wonderful half-volley early on against the Foxes set the tone for a strong performance as we beat Dean Smith’s side 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Following a corner, the ball broke to the defender before he unleashed a instinctive effort into the top corner from just outside the box.
Riyad Mahrez v Sheffield United
A tremendous solo goal which all-but sealed our place in the FA Cup final.
After collecting the ball just inside the Blades half, the Algerian ace weaved his way into the box, past a number of defenders, and coolly slotted home.
Mahrez had already given us the lead at Wembley via the penalty spot and soon went on to complete his hat-trick.
Chloe Kelly v West Ham United
Kelly has enjoyed yet another strong Barclays Women’s Super League campaign in 2022/23 and her immense ability was on show against the Hammers.
The winger collected a stray West Ham pass and calmly chipped the goalkeeper from range.
Kevin De Bruyne v Arsenal
With the Etihad rocking ahead of our crucial Premier League meeting with the Gunners, Kevin De Bruyne’s early strike almost took the roof off.
Stones’ accurate pass to Haaland saw the Norwegian expertly play in the Belgian who marauded forward and slotted past Aaron Ramsdale from all of 25-yards.
