Aymeric Laporte says he is very happy to be playing again after picking up an injury during the international break.

The French defender missed the last three games, but resumed his partnership with new signing Ruben Dias against Marseille and the pair looked solid throughout.

“It was a very hard game and we are very happy with the win,” said Laporte.

“I’m very happy to be back and I hope it’s for a long time, but we will see how things go.”

On Ferran Torres, he added: “He is a young guy who can do many good things.

“What he has done already for us is really good and he deserves it, because he works really hard every day to improve and help us.”

And looking ahead to the weekend trip to Sheffield United, Laporte said: “It will be difficult, like all the games in the Premier League.

“We have to focus on every game and hopefully we can go there and win.”
