Aymeric Laporte says Manchester City should be proud of our impressive 12 game winning run in the Premier League after the streak was ended in a 1-1 draw against Southampton.

The defender equalised with a perfect header from Kevin de Bruyne’s cross in the second-half after Kyle Walker-Peters had put the hosts ahead early in the encounter.

Pep Guardiola‘s side stretch the unbeaten run to 13 league matches and now sit 12 points clear the top of the table.

“We have to see what we have done the last 12 games and we have to be proud of it,” Laporte told mancity.com.

“It’s never easy to win every single game every week. Tonight it has been difficult. Sometimes, we can skip some points.

“I’m happy with the goal - it’s never easy to score goals being a defender. I’m happy with that but I would have liked to win tonight.”

The defender also gave his thoughts on Southampton and how to get back to winning ways.
